Hachinohe Park

Hachinohe Park is a large green space in the city with multiple sections for exploration and relaxation. The park includes a botanical garden, an amusement area with rides, an animal enclosure, open grass fields, a Japanese garden, and an observation tower.

The park was founded in 1981 as a public project offering diverse areas for visitors from the start. In 2005, a private company took over management and brought new directions to its development.

The park displays a notable monument inspired by the Jomon period, showing the connection between parent and child and reflecting the region's deep roots in ancient times. Visitors can observe this artwork and understand how this historical era shapes local identity.

The amusement section operates rides only during warmer months from April through early November when weather permits. Visitors should check ahead to see which areas are active on their planned visit day.

The botanical building grows bananas year-round in a controlled environment, which is unusual for this climate zone. Visitors can see the plants and sometimes attend gardening workshops or purchase uncommon plant varieties.
