Kitazawa Museum of Art

The Kitazawa Museum of Art is an art museum in Suwa on the shore of Lake Suwa, housing about 1,000 glass artworks and 200 paintings by Japanese and international artists. The collection is organized across two main floors, with decorative glass displayed on the lower level and contemporary Japanese paintings on the upper floor.

The museum was founded by industrialist Toshio Kitazawa and opened in 1983 as a major cultural institution in Nagano Prefecture. Its establishment brought a significant art collection to the region and made it an important destination for visitors interested in glass and painting.
