Meieki

Meieki is a major commercial neighborhood in Nagoya featuring office towers, department stores, and three main train stations: JR Nagoya Station, Meitetsu Nagoya Station, and Kintetsu Nagoya Station. The area is filled with contemporary buildings equipped with modern facilities and centralized climate systems.

The district was heavily reconstructed following World War II bombing, rising from ruins to become a major business center for Nagoya. This rebuilding shaped it into one of the city's most important economic hubs.

The Nagoya Mosque, founded in 1998, stands west of the train stations as a gathering place for the Muslim community. Its presence reflects the neighborhood's cultural diversity amid the commercial surroundings.

This area is best explored on foot, with the three train stations offering multiple entry and exit points throughout the neighborhood. Taking your time to navigate gradually helps you understand the interconnected layout, especially since the stations are linked underground.

The JR Central Towers building houses the headquarters of Central Japan Railway Company, which operates a major railway network across central Japan. This location serves as the command center for one of the country's most critical transportation corridors.
