大島綠道公園, park in Japan
Oshima Greenway Park is a public park in eastern Tokyo with pathways winding through trees and open green spaces. The park has smooth walking trails, seating areas, and public restrooms located near the entrances.
The park was established in 1978 on a section of a former streetcar line that was discontinued in 1972. The park follows the route of this former railway line from the Kameido Bridge area to Meiji Street.
The park is open year-round and free to enter. Being close to Nishi-Ojima Station means visitors can reach it easily by train with just a short walk from the nearest station.
The park follows a former railway route, giving it particularly wide and straight pathways that are characteristic of old transport corridors. Visitors can reflect on this past while walking and experience firsthand how urban land has been transformed into green space.
