四国ニュージーランド村, New Zealand themed park in Mannō, Japan
Shikoku New Zealand Village was a theme park in Kagawa Prefecture that occupied a large site with diverse attractions spread throughout the grounds. It featured grazing animals including sheep and horses, alongside extensive gardens planted with roses and various herbs.
The park opened on August 3, 1988, attracting visitors interested in exploring New Zealand culture and nature. After roughly 17 years of operation, it closed in 2005 and was later converted into a solar power facility.
The park integrated New Zealand architectural elements, traditional music performances, dance shows, and cultural exhibitions to represent authentic New Zealand experiences.
The park could be reached by bus from the nearest train station with straightforward access to the various attractions. Visitors should have worn comfortable clothing since the grounds required walking and weather conditions were a consideration.
The site originally occupied 1787 hectares and housed over a thousand living sheep plus authentic New Zealand houses for exploration. After closure, most structures disappeared as the location was converted into a solar installation.
