Yumenoshima Park

Yumenoshima Park is a large metropolitan park in Koto Ward with open green spaces, sports facilities including a stadium and track field, and barbecue areas throughout its grounds. The site also features a tropical greenhouse dome that houses plants from warm climates.

The park opened in 1978 on a former landfill site that previously served Tokyo's waste disposal needs. This transformation of industrial land into recreational space reflects postwar urban renewal efforts.

The park hosts the Akahata Matsuri festival every 4 years, drawing thousands of visitors for a multi-day celebration. This seasonal gathering shapes how locals and tourists experience the space together.
