姫路みなとドーム, Indoor sports arena in Himeji, Japan
The Himeji Minato Dome features a steel-framed membrane roof structure and spans across 21,046 square meters of land near Himeji Port.
The multipurpose facility opened its doors in 2001 as a new addition to the urban infrastructure of Himeji city.
The indoor arena hosts numerous sports competitions, exhibitions, concerts, and local community gatherings throughout the year.
The facility contains four tennis courts, six gateball courts, meeting rooms, shower facilities, and changing rooms for visitors and athletes.
During emergencies, the dome transforms into an evacuation center, serving as a critical infrastructure component for the local population.
