新長田駅前ビル, Commercial skyscraper in Nagata district, Kobe, Japan.
Shin-Nagata Station Building is a commercial tower situated directly above Shin-Nagata Station, featuring 25 stories above ground with additional basement levels below. The structure integrates residential, office, and retail spaces within a single vertical complex.
The building was completed in 1977 as part of Kobe's development strategy for a western urban center. It survived the 1995 earthquake largely undamaged while neighboring structures suffered significant harm.
The building functions as a shopping destination for locals and visitors passing through the area. Its stores and dining options reflect everyday consumer needs in this part of the city.
The building connects directly to Shin-Nagata Station, making it easy to arrive by three different rail lines. Shops, restaurants, and offices occupy various floors throughout the structure.
The building transitioned to new management in 2013 after its original anchor department store closed. This shift led to a repositioning of the complex with updated retail tenants replacing the previous anchor.
