日向市立大王谷学園, Combined elementary and junior high school in Hyuga, Japan
Daio Valley Academy is a combined elementary and junior high school in Hyuga with two separate buildings for different grade levels. Each building sits close to the other in the Daio-cho district, creating physical proximity between the two school sections.
The school was founded in 2008 and introduced an integrated curriculum system that combines elementary and secondary education. This structure made it possible to bridge traditional school divisions and create continuous learning development over several years.
Students participate in annual field trips to locations such as Chiran Peace Museum and Kagoshima Aquarium to learn about Japanese history and marine life.
The elementary section is housed in one building in the Daio-cho area, while the secondary section operates from a separate nearby building. Visitors can easily find both locations as they sit in the same neighborhood and are accessible by local transport.
The school organizes gratitude ceremonies during field trips where students express appreciation to bus drivers and guides who assist their educational journeys.
