Kushifuru-jinja, Shinto shrine in Japan

Kushifuru-jinja is a small shrine on a mountain in Takachiho dedicated to the god Ninigi no Mikoto. The grounds are surrounded by tall trees and feature trails leading to other mythological sites, including the Takamagahara Worship Area and Tenshin Mana Water spring.

Kushifuru Mountain is mentioned in the Kojiki, Japan's oldest historical text, as the place where the god Ninigi descended from heaven to rule the earth. A shrine was built on this sacred site in 1694 to honor the ancient location.

The shrine holds deep meaning for visitors seeking connection to Japan's divine stories and local spiritual practices. Its simple design and natural surroundings encourage people to pause and reflect on the sacred traditions that have shaped this land.

The shrine is easily accessible on foot from Takachiho's center and sits near other historical sites. Walking trails to the grounds are straightforward with gentle slopes and peaceful surroundings throughout.

Tenshin Mana Water is a spring on the grounds that visitors revere as water from the heavenly origin place itself. Some people visit this spot with special offerings or drink from it seeking personal blessings.
