Former Ikeda Family Gardens, Traditional garden in Daisen, Japan

The garden extends over 42,000 square meters with a large pond, surrounded by rice fields against the background of Ou Mountains and Mount Chokai.

The Ikeda family, who settled in Dewa Province during the early Edo period, built this garden and became one of the three largest landholders in Tohoku.

The property includes a 1923 western-style mansion designed by Keisuke Imamura, featuring marble columns and Japanese leather paper with gold leaf decorations.

The garden opens from mid-May to mid-November between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM, located 15 minutes by car from JR Omagari Station in Akita Prefecture.

The garden contains a stone lantern measuring four meters in height, constructed from stone sourced from the Oga Peninsula, making it Japan's tallest.
