Tokyo Skytree Town, Einkaufszentrum in Japan
Tokyo Skytree Town is a large shopping and entertainment complex in eastern Tokyo built around the over 600-meter-high Tokyo Skytree. The complex includes the Tokyo Solamachi shopping mall with around 300 shops and restaurants, the Sumida Aquarium with around 7,000 marine creatures, and a planetarium, all connected through plazas and green spaces.
The complex was developed in the 2000s to combine the traditional role of television and radio in Tokyo with modern design and revitalize the eastern city center. Its creation carefully considered the local history of the Oshiage area and the culture of the region while introducing new technologies and facilities.
The complex blends contemporary architecture with traditional Japanese craftsmanship, creating a place where old and new elements meet. You can experience this mix directly when walking through the shops and open spaces, where modern trends meet local artisanal techniques.
The complex is just a minute's walk from Tokyo Skytree Station and Oshiage Station, served by several train lines. The area is highly accessible with ramps, elevators, and wheelchair-accessible restrooms, as well as changing rooms and nursing areas for families with children.
The Konica Minolta Planetarium Tenku uses special sound and aromas to help visitors relax while viewing the sky. This makes a visit a sensory experience that goes beyond simply watching stars.
