Mizu no Kuni

Mizu no Kuni is a water science museum in Gotsu that combines contemporary art installations with interactive scientific demonstrations. The exhibitions use light, sound, and sculptures to explore different aspects and properties of water.

The museum was created to educate visitors about water's role in the region through natural elements and traditional storytelling approaches. Its foundation was based on the idea that understanding water helps people connect with the local landscape and heritage.

The building itself won a major landscape award for how its architecture integrates seamlessly with the surrounding natural environment. This design choice makes the relationship between the building and water central to the visitor experience.
