Hamamatsu Municipal Museum of Art

The Hamamatsu Municipal Museum of Art presents Japanese and international visual art collections across multiple exhibition halls adjacent to Hamamatsu Castle Park.

The museum initiated its operations in July 1971, establishing itself as the primary art institution in Hamamatsu City's cultural development program.

The museum houses the Kosugi Soichi Collection, featuring numerous gilt bronze Buddhist statues, which visitors can photograph in the third exhibition room.

Visitors can reach the museum via an 8-minute bus ride from Hamamatsu Station, with the stop located directly in front of the building.

The facility maintains digital archives of its collections and organizes educational programs where curators provide detailed insights about exhibited artworks.
