Sagiridai

The location gained prominence during the Meiji period when Yufu developed into a destination for travelers seeking natural landscapes. That era established the region's appeal and led eventually to the creation of this viewpoint.

The name Sagiridai translates to "mist terrace" and refers to the delicate fog layers that regularly rise over the valley during winter months. Visitors can watch this natural display from the platform and understand why the location earned its distinctive name.

The best time to visit is early morning when fog formation over the valley is most active. Sturdy footwear is recommended as paths can be uneven depending on weather, and the site is accessible year-round.
