Shinkaichi Community Center for Arts and Interaction

The Shinkaichi Community Center for Arts and Interaction is a modern performance venue in Hyogo featuring multiple functional spaces. It includes theaters for shows, a library, a café, a shop, and dedicated areas for various artistic activities and rehearsals.

The center opened in April 2023 as part of cultural recovery and development in Hyogo Prefecture. Its establishment was driven by efforts to rebuild community spaces following the Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake.

The center hosts theatrical performances and art workshops where residents regularly gather. Local and visiting artists share the spaces for collaborative projects and seasonal events.

The center is about a five-minute walk from Shinkaichi Station exit 8. The opening hours are 10:00 to 22:00 daily, and it closes on Tuesdays except during national holidays.

The building thoughtfully merges performance spaces with community areas throughout its layout. This design allows spontaneous artistic encounters to happen naturally between visitors and artists during everyday visits.
