Kōriyama-shuku Honjin, Historic guesthouse from Edo period in Ibaraki City, Japan.

The Kōriyama-shuku Honjin features traditional Japanese architecture with tatami floors, sliding doors, and multiple rooms for accommodating travelers along the Nankai Road.

Between 1696 and 1872, this official lodging hosted numerous daimyo during their mandatory journeys to Edo, with records showing up to 30 stays per year.

The guesthouse contains preserved facilities including the main building, storehouse, tea room, and jail, reflecting the social structure of Edo period Japan.

Located at 3-10 Shukugawara in Ibaraki City, the site requires advance reservations for visits except during two annual public opening events.

The guesthouse earned the name 'Tsubaki no Honjin' from its camellia tree that produces flowers in five different colors next to the entrance.
