Nojimasaki Lighthouse, Lighthouse in Minamiboso, Japan

The octagonal white concrete tower rises 29 meters from its position at the southernmost point of the Boso Peninsula along the Pacific coast.

French engineer Léonce Verny designed the original brick structure in 1869, making it the second western-style lighthouse constructed in Japan.

The lighthouse forms part of Japan's 50 Lighthouses collection and holds status as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property.

Visitors can climb the spiral staircase to the observation deck for 300 yen between 8:30 and 17:00, with last entry 20 minutes before closing.

The light system emits alternating red and white flashes every 15 seconds, reaching vessels up to 32 kilometers across the Pacific Ocean.
