Hishikawa Moronobu Memorial Museum

The Hishikawa Moronobu Memorial Museum exhibits prints, paintings, and sketches that demonstrate traditional Japanese woodblock printing techniques of the Edo period.

The museum opened on March 21, 1985, to preserve and display the artistic legacy of Hishikawa Moronobu, who mastered ukiyo-e woodblock printing during the 1600s.

The collection includes detailed illustrations of daily life scenes, women portraits, and landscapes that represent the social changes of seventeenth-century Japan.

Located at 516 Yoshihama, the museum operates from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM throughout the week, except Mondays and during year-end holidays.

The museum maintains a specialized resource center containing educational materials about ukiyo-e printing methods and historical documentation from the Edo period.
