Ishidō-ji

Ishidō-ji is a Buddhist temple in Minamiboso featuring several stone structures on its grounds. The complex includes a three-storey stone tower, multiple stone Buddha statues, and gorinto towers arranged along the entrance pathway.

The temple was founded in the late 12th century and became connected to Karukaya, who abandoned his family to pursue Buddhist enlightenment. This personal story shaped the temple's spiritual significance through the centuries.

Three stone towers on the grounds contain the ashes of Karukaya, his son Ishido, and Ishido's mother Chisato. These towers form a rare connection between historical family ties and religious purpose in a single location.
