音樂寺, Buddhist temple in Kōnan, Japan
Ongaku-ji Temple features a main hall dedicated to Yakushi Buddha, complemented by gardens containing 1,200 hydrangea plants throughout its grounds.
Originally established as Daijo-in in 1184 by monk Gen'ei, the temple changed its name to Ongaku-ji in 1319 and contains artifacts from the Nara period.
The temple houses 16 wooden Buddhist statues carved by monk Enku in 1676, which received cultural property status from Konan City in 1968.
Visitors can reach the temple by taking the Meitetsu Bus from Konan Station to the Ongaku-ji stop, followed by a one-minute walk to the entrance.
The temple grounds include the Murakuni Historical Museum, which displays archaeological findings and religious artifacts within a traditional white-walled storehouse.
