Gifu-Kakamigahara Air and Space Museum

The Gifu-Kakamigahara Air and Space Museum contains extensive aircraft collections and space exploration exhibits across 9,400 square meters of display space.

The museum opened its doors on March 23, 1996, and underwent a major expansion in 2018, increasing its exhibition area by 1.7 times its original size.

The facility houses Japan's largest collection of real aircraft, including the Hien fighter plane and a full-scale model of the first Zero fighter that flew in Kakamigahara.

Visitors can access the museum via the Meitetsu Kakamigahara Line to Kakamigahara City Hall Station, followed by a local bus to the museum stop.

The space area features the Kibo Japanese Experiment Module from the International Space Station and full-scale models of the Hayabusa 2 spacecraft.
