Kashimayari Snow Resort, Ski resort in Ōmachi, Japan.
Kashimayari Snow Resort is a ski area in Ōmachi with two separate zones called Nakatsuna and Chuo, together offering 22 slopes and 8 ski lifts. The two areas allow for a vertical drop of 700 meters between the highest and lowest points.
The resort was founded in 1963 and brought winter sports facilities to the Japanese Alps region in Nagano Prefecture. Its creation marked an important moment for winter tourism in this mountain area.
The resort has hot spring bathing facilities where visitors experience a traditional Japanese winter custom while looking at mountain views. These baths are woven into daily life at the site and show how people here embrace the cold season.
The area opens from December through March, with January bringing the heaviest snow on average during its second week. Visitors should keep this timing in mind when seeking the best snow conditions on the slopes.
The resort features Japan's longest snow tubing course and has noticeably short waiting lines compared to neighboring ski areas. This lower crowding makes it a pleasant place to ski without large crowds.
