Ryōma's Birthplace Memorial Museum

The Ryōma's Birthplace Memorial Museum presents multimedia exhibits and artifacts documenting the life of Sakamoto Ryōma through interactive displays and historical reconstructions.

The museum stands at the birthplace of Sakamoto Ryōma, who facilitated Japan's transition from feudalism to constitutional government through diplomatic negotiations in the 1860s.

Exhibits showcase the transformation of a merchant-class samurai son into a national figure who established Japan's first trading company and modernized naval operations.

Located 15 minutes by streetcar from Kochi Station, the museum opens daily from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM with multilingual audio guides available in English, Chinese, and Korean.

The museum features a seated statue of Ryōma in its inner garden, where visitors photograph themselves alongside the revolutionary leader's representation.
