BiVi Hiji, Commercial complex in Hiji, Japan
BiVi Hiji is a two-story commercial complex near Yoko Station in Oita Prefecture with retail shops, restaurants, and services on the lower level. The town library occupies the upper floor alongside other facilities.
The complex opened in June 2015 on the former grounds of Hiji High School. The school vacated the location in 1997, leaving the site available for this development.
HiCaLi is a community gathering space where residents host meetings and local events. This room shows how the complex supports everyday social life in Hiji.
The complex provides more than 169 parking spaces on-site, making it easy to find a spot. Individual businesses and facilities operate on different schedules, so it helps to check ahead before visiting a specific shop or service.
The municipal library shares the building directly with commercial spaces rather than existing separately. This arrangement allows visitors to move fluidly between shopping, dining, and library services in one visit.
