Zenkō-ji

Zenkō-ji is a Buddhist temple in Kita-Aoyama with a main hall featuring intricate architectural elements, surrounded by smaller shrines, gardens, and a museum building. The complex spreads across multiple areas, each serving different purposes for worship and visitation.

The temple was founded in 642 and houses an ancient statue of the Amida Triad brought from India through the Paekche kingdom. This statue has been central to the site since its arrival and shaped its importance over the centuries.
