Wadakura Bridge

Wadakura Bridge is a concrete structure that spans the inner moat of the Imperial Palace, linking the Kokyo-gaien National Garden to the Marunouchi district. The crossing provides pedestrians with a direct route over the water between these two areas.

The bridge location was originally part of a fortified gate structure from 1620 featuring a rectangular opening design. Original stone walls from that era still remain visible at the site, marking its defensive past.

The bridge marks the intersection between traditional Japanese architecture and modern engineering, serving as a gateway to the Imperial Palace grounds.

Access to the bridge is most straightforward through Exit D3 of Otemachi Station, which sits within Tokyo's central transportation network. The location is easily walkable and sits along a natural pedestrian route between different city districts.
