Aobanomori Park Art and Culture Hall, 千葉市中央区にある多目的ホール
Aobanomori Park Art and Culture Hall is a multi-purpose venue located within a large park in Chiba. The main hall seats approximately 877 people and offers flexible spaces designed to accommodate different types of events and exhibitions.
The hall opened in 1992 as a result of the community's effort to create an accessible cultural space for the area. Designed by architect Hiroyasu Tomiie, it has since become an important venue for local and regional performances and gatherings.
The name derives from the aoba trees that surround the park and shape the visitor experience. The hall functions as a gathering place where local artists and community members regularly hold their activities.
The hall is about a 15-minute walk from Chibadera Station or accessible by bus from the city center. There is no parking on the premises, but paid parking is available within the park at a reasonable distance on foot.
The hall houses the only fully assembled Noh stage in Chiba Prefecture, built entirely from cypress wood. This traditional stage can be folded up and stored when not in use, while the distinctive scent of the wood enhances the authentic experience of watching classical Japanese theatre.
