井上長者館跡, Archaeological site in Namegata District, Japan.

Inoue Choja remains is an archaeological site in Ibaraki Prefecture containing traces of a fortified settlement from medieval times. Excavations have uncovered double moats, earthen bridges, and defensive structures indicating a strategically planned fortification.

This location developed as a fortified settlement during the medieval period. Systematic excavations conducted in late 1989 and early 1990 revealed important insights into settlement patterns of that era.

The excavated Sueki and Haji pottery pieces provide substantial evidence of daily life patterns and social structures in ancient Japanese society.

The site is open to visitors, with the excavation area clearly marked and accessible. Information about visiting conditions and guided tours can be obtained from Tamagawa Town's Cultural Affairs office.

The pottery discovered here, including Sueki and Haji ceramics, offers insights into daily life and social organization of the people who inhabited this settlement. These objects help researchers understand the social differences and trade connections of the medieval population.
