尊躰寺, Buddhist temple in Kofu, Japan
The Zontai-ji temple stands within the Kinote district of Kofu, featuring a central worship hall and several smaller prayer buildings throughout its grounds.
The temple traces its origins to the Daiei period between 1521 and 1527, when warlord Takeda Nobutora established it after his recovery from illness.
The temple opens its doors twice yearly, on January 16 and August 16, for special ceremonies where visitors can view the principal Amida Buddha image.
Located at 1-13-17 Joto in Kofu City, the temple maintains regular visiting hours and provides parking facilities for both cars and tour buses.
The temple grounds contain the graves of notable figures including Okubo Nagayasu, who supervised the Sado gold mines and shaped local village structures.
