Orto-Tokoy Reservoir

Orto-Tokoy Reservoir is a large body of water located in Naryn province that sits between steep mountain ranges. The basin stretches roughly 18 kilometers long and holds vast quantities of water channeled through irrigation systems to farmland in both countries.

The reservoir was constructed in 1956 as the first major water storage project in Kyrgyzstan. This structure marked the start of modern water management in the region.
