Kazalnica Mięguszowiecka, Mountain summit in Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Poland.
Kazalnica Mięguszowiecka is a mountain summit in the Tatras rising to 2,159 meters, located above Czarny Staw lake in a dramatic rocky setting. The peak features steep cliffs that rise directly from the lake basin below.
The peak was first summited through its central rock section in 1942 when climbers opened a new route on the face. This ascent marked the beginning of the mountain's development as a climbing destination in the region.
The name comes from the Polish word for pulpit, describing the mountain's distinctive shape that stands out among other peaks in the range. Locals and climbers recognize this form immediately from various viewpoints across the mountains.
Access to the area is via a marked hiking trail that passes behind the summit, taking around 2.5 hours from the base near Czarny Staw. The path demands surefootedness and becomes significantly more challenging in wet conditions or winter snow.
The northeastern wall presents some of the most technical climbing challenges in the range, with conditions changing dramatically between seasons due to water flowing through rock cracks. Ice formation in winter makes this section particularly demanding for climbers.
