Schronisko na Hali Pysznej is a mountain hut in the Western Tatra Mountains near the junction where the Pyszniański and Babi streams meet. The wooden structure sat at 1241 meters elevation and provided overnight accommodation with dining and sleeping facilities for visitors.
The hut was built in 1909 by the Polish Tatra Society and served as a base for mountain travelers for decades. It was destroyed in 1945 during fighting between German forces and Soviet partisans in the area.
The location became a skiing center in the 1930s when renowned athlete Stanisław Marusarz served as its host and organizer. His presence made it a gathering place for winter sports enthusiasts from the surrounding region.
The site is difficult to reach today and requires a demanding hike through rough mountain terrain with uneven trails. Visitors should be prepared with sturdy footwear and come ready for challenging mountain conditions.
Only stone foundations remain visible where the hut once stood, while the surrounding area became a protected nature reserve. The place is now home to bears and deer living freely in this wild mountain region.
