Lake of Ledinci, lake
Lake of Ledinci is a reservoir near Novi Sad, roughly 100 meters wide and 400 meters long with a narrow, elongated shape. The water is fed by groundwater and small streams, reaching depths of about 50 meters at its deepest point, surrounded by steep banks and thick forest.
The lake formed in 1999 when pumps at a nearby quarry stopped working and groundwater filled the excavated pit. In 2005, a company called Alas took ownership of the land, and by 2009 the lake was completely drained and has remained empty since.
The lake served as a gathering place where locals would spend afternoons and evenings with family and friends. For the community, it represented a return to natural life after years of mining activity in the area.
The site sits on private property with restricted access, where camping and fishing are forbidden. A good starting point is near the Zvečan spring, from where forest paths lead to a viewpoint offering views of the area.
The site served as a filming location for several Serbian films including Mi Nismo Anđeli 3 and a music video by singer Zdravko Čolić. The dramatic steep shorelines and isolated forest setting provided a natural backdrop for these productions.
