Dom Sindikata, Cultural building at Nikola Pašić Square, Belgrade, Serbia
Dom Sindikata is a building on Nikola Pašić Square housing both performance and office spaces across multiple stories. The structure includes a basement, ground floor, mezzanine, and upper levels with rooms designed for various purposes and gatherings.
Architect Branko Petričić designed the building in 1947, though construction delays meant it did not open until November 1957. Once completed, it quickly became an important venue for events and remained a central gathering place in the city.
The Great Hall served as a major performance venue where musicians and artists from around the world played for local audiences. People gathered here for concerts and shows, making it an important place for sharing music and culture with the community.
The building underwent extensive renovation between 2017 and 2018, bringing modern technology, improved safety systems, and updated facilities throughout. Today visitors will find a well-equipped venue with contemporary conditions and good maintenance.
A large pipe organ was installed in 1957 and remained playable for four decades until 1998, becoming a memorable detail in the building's past. This instrument once contributed significantly to the musical quality of performances held here.
