Bela Reka Lake, meer in Servië
Bela Reka Lake is a small reservoir in the Voždovac district of Belgrade, surrounded by trees and with a gravel beach along part of its shore. A footpath runs around most of the water's edge, and grassy areas with benches offer places to sit.
The lake was built as a reservoir to support water management for the surrounding area and originally served a purely technical purpose. Over time, residents of Voždovac began using its banks for walks and outdoor activities, and it gradually became a local green space.
The name Bela Reka translates as "white river," a reference to the local tradition of naming water features by their appearance or flow. On weekends, people from the surrounding streets gather here to fish along the banks or simply sit on the grass, turning the place into an informal meeting point.
The lake sits close to main roads in Voždovac and is easy to reach by public transport, with parking options in the area. The path around the water is accessible year-round, though summer brings noticeably more people to the gravel beach.
The water here tends to stay cooler than that of other nearby lakes, even on hot days, which draws people in the evening during summer. The combination of the basin's depth and the surrounding tree cover keeps the temperature down naturally.
