Marićevića jaruga, Memorial complex in Orašac, Serbia
The memorial includes a marble fountain, commemorative plaques, and bas-reliefs depicting key figures of the Serbian uprising against Ottoman rule.
The site marks where Serbian leaders gathered on February 15, 1804, to select Karađorđe Petrović as their commander for the First Serbian Uprising.
The memorial complex features a museum that presents artifacts and documents related to the beginning of modern Serbian statehood in the 19th century.
The memorial site opens daily from 10 AM to 5 PM Monday through Saturday, with 24-hour access available on Sundays throughout the year.
The monument to Karađorđe uses white marble from Mount Venčac, the same material used in the construction of the White House in Washington.
