Yekaterinburg jewellery museum, Jewelry and gemstone museum in Kirovski district, Yekaterinburg, Russia.
The jewelry museum occupies a historical building from the 1820s and displays around 500 works of gemstones, jewelry pieces, and stone-cutting art across three floors. The collection showcases refined materials and various crafting techniques spanning different periods.
The museum was founded in 1992 and occupies a building originally built in 1820 as a pharmacy for miners. The location connects the mining traditions of the Ural Mountains region with its later role as a center for gemstone art.
The exhibition halls display pieces from imperial workshops and contemporary craftspeople, showing how jewelry making has evolved in Russian tradition. These works reveal the importance of gemstones in the region's artistic heritage.
The museum is located at Lenina Avenue 37 and opens Wednesday through Sunday, with extended hours on Thursdays until 20:00. Plan enough time to explore all three floors comfortably, as the exhibition requires considerable walking through the building.
A highlight is the Bazhovsky hall, decorated with special lacquer panels depicting tales from regional writer P. P. Bazhov. This rare blend of storytelling and mineral art creates an experience found nowhere else in the region.
