Tarasov Estate, Yekaterinburg
Tarasov Estate, Yekaterinburg, Regional cultural heritage estate in Yekaterinburg, Russia
Tarasov Estate is a classicist building with symmetrical facade elements positioned on elevated ground in Yekaterinburg. The main front features balanced proportions, columns, and regularly spaced windows typical of residential architecture from that era.
The house was built in the 1880s under Ivan Redikortsev's direction, and Sharaviev, a gold merchant, acquired it a decade later. The building then gained significance through events that unfolded during the Russian Revolution period.
The estate displays classical proportions and symmetrical design that define the appearance of central Yekaterinburg's residential blocks. Walking through the area today, you can observe how wealthy merchants of the 1800s chose to present themselves through their homes.
The estate is located in central Yekaterinburg and forms part of the urban fabric, making it easily accessible on foot. You can view the exterior and observe how the elevated position and surrounding buildings relate to one another.
The building is also known as Ipatiev House, a name connected to a pivotal moment in Russian history. This connection gives the location a weight that most visitors do not immediately recognize when first viewing the classical structure.
