The building stands on Lunacharskogo Street with three floors, featuring a symmetrical east facade and a Tuscan order portico with four columns.
The Diocesan Women's School, established in 1889, operated until 1917 in a stone building that initially served as a free postal station.
The institution provided education in physics, arithmetic, geography, pedagogy, didactics, history, musical notation, and drawing for female students in pre-revolutionary Russia.
By 1916, the school accommodated 348 students, leading to the construction of a new three-story building to meet growing enrollment demands.
The school maintained a wooden house where senior students gained teaching experience by instructing pupils at the parish school.
