Кашпирский монастырь

The Kashpir Monastery is an Orthodox monastery in Syzran featuring a stone church as its principal structure, surrounded by wooden buildings that include a bell tower, residential quarters for monks, and support structures. These buildings together form a functional monastic complex that continues to serve its religious community.

The monastery was founded in 1685 as the Ascension Monastery and relocated to Kashpir in 1687, where it became an important residence of the Kazan diocese. This early establishment phase set the spiritual character of the site for centuries to come.
