The Rich Well

The Rich Well sits on the Bogatuanovsky descent between Sedova Street and Beregovaya Street, featuring a rotunda with industrial architecture elements. The structure has supplied technical water since the mid-1920s for various municipal needs.

The site gained prominence in 1749 when a customs house was established nearby, marking the beginning of organized trade in the region. This development established it as an important commercial center.

The spring carries different names across regional languages - Bai qozok in Bashkir and Bogatyannovski Aghbyur in Armenian - reflecting the cultural diversity of the area. These names show how various peoples have known and called this place over time.

The well sits on a descent and is best reached by walking down stairs from the upper part of the slope. The surroundings can become slippery during rain or snow, so appropriate footwear is important.

The initial discovery of the spring happened when an observer spotted Russian ships and found water flowing from a calcareous slope. This chance finding revealed the value of this natural water source to the area.
