Pavilion No 51 Meat Industry, Federal cultural heritage pavilion at Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy, Moscow, Russia.
Pavilion No. 51 Meat Industry is a federal heritage building on the grounds of the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy in Moscow. Its facade is symmetrical with three-quarter columns and an ornamental cornice topped by carved bull heads at the entrance.
The building was built in 1954 by architects V. M. Lisitsyn and S. G. Chernobay and originally showcased Soviet meat processing advances. It served as part of the major industrial exhibition that displayed the Soviet Union's economic achievements.
The building blends Persian and Greek design elements throughout its structure. This combination shows how Soviet architects wanted to connect classical forms with industrial themes.
The building is located in Ostankinsky District and is currently undergoing restoration to become a museum space. Visitors should check ahead to learn whether access is possible during renovation work or if the grounds remain open to the public.
Before the building closed for restoration, its interior contained a large sculpted panel by artist B. V. Scherbakov showing a cattle herd. This artwork symbolized Soviet pride in industrial abundance and prosperity.
