Levashovsky Roundhouse bakery

Levashovsky Roundhouse bakery is a wholesale bread production facility with circular architecture and multiple production levels in Petrograd District. The structure features large industrial windows and now serves as a cultural center housing a library, offices, co-working spaces, and an art school.

The facility was built in the 1930s as a bakery with an innovative circular design. During the Siege of Leningrad from 1941 to 1944, the factory remained operational and supplied bread rations to residents.

The bakery displays constructivist features from the 1930s, visible in its circular form and large industrial windows designed for efficient production. You can observe how the architecture shapes the way people move through the working spaces.

The building contains an interactive historical installation created by historian Lev Lurie documenting the bakery's role during the blockade. This exhibit presents personal stories and documents that illustrate daily life during the difficult wartime period.
