Geslerovsky Bridge

Geslerovsky Bridge is a concrete crossing over the Karpovka River in Saint Petersburg, built to carry both vehicle and foot traffic. The roadway features asphalt paving with distinct sidewalks separated by granite edge stones for safety.

A wooden bridge first crossed this spot in 1887, serving the area for many decades. In 1965, engineers replaced it entirely with the reinforced concrete structure that stands today.

The bridge carries the name of Ivan Fyodorovich Gesler, who served as garderobe meister during Paul I's reign in Saint Petersburg.

The bridge is straightforward to cross and well-designed for pedestrian access, with clearly separated walking paths. Visitors should note it is an active traffic point where conditions can change seasonally.

Iron railings frame the sides of this bridge, while granite stair descents ornament its approaches as a hallmark of Saint Petersburg's bridge engineering tradition. These finishing details elevate it beyond a simple crossing.
