Городская усадьба И. И. Воронцова

The Vorontsov City Estate is a two-story building in Empire style with classical elements and symmetrical side wings at the corner of Rozhdestvenskaya Street and Sandunovsky Lane. The complex maintains its original structure with geometric layout and elegant facade design.

The estate was founded in the early 18th century by governor Artemy Volynsky and came into the hands of Count Ivan Vorontsov in 1759, who commissioned a complete redesign. The rebuilt structure followed modern European Empire-style standards and left a lasting mark on Moscow's architectural landscape.

The facade displays classical Empire features with symmetrical wings that reflect Moscow's 19th-century architectural traditions. Today, architecture students use the rooms as a learning space for craft and design education.

The building stands at a convenient central location in Moscow and is easy to access. The site currently serves students and professionals interested in exploring architecture and construction heritage.

During the 1812 war, the site became a hospital while medical professionals simultaneously worked on teaching tasks. This dual purpose made it a vital center for practical medical training during a critical period.
