Тверское подворье

Tverskie Podvorie is a stone building in the city center with classical architectural elements. The two-story structure features barrel-vaulted ceilings, brick decorative details, and received a northwest addition in the late 1700s.

The property belonged to Tver archbishops beginning in the 1600s and contained a church on its grounds. The religious function ended in the early 1700s, after which the location became a residential and later commercial space.

The building housed an Italian music teacher's family in the 1700s and served as a sculptor's workshop in the following decades. These artistic connections remain part of the place's character.

The building currently operates as a business center with offices and can be visited on weekdays. Access is available through a courtyard entrance that requires stepping down from street level.

The interior retains original barrel vaults with groins, a construction technique rarely seen in Moscow architecture today. These structural features survived intact through all the building's transitions.
