Ивантеевский дендрологический парк им. академика А. С. Яблокова, Dendrological park and natural monument in Ivanteyevka, Moscow Oblast, Russia.
This 13-hectare protected botanical site houses over 100 species of trees and shrubs from diverse climatic zones including North America, Europe, Asia, and the Far East, organized across 17 specialized quarters for scientific research and public education.
Established in 1936 on the site of a former municipal dump, the park initially contained over 1,000 plant species from various countries, though harsh winters in 1941-1942 reduced the collection to approximately 367 surviving species that formed the foundation of today's arboretum.
Named after Academician A.S. Yablokov, the park serves as an educational center for forestry students and researchers, offering guided tours, workshops, and practical training sessions that promote botanical knowledge and environmental awareness among visitors of all ages.
Located 17 kilometers from the Moscow Ring Road along Yaroslavskoye Highway, the park operates daily from 8 AM to 5 PM with free admission, providing visitors access to walking trails, plant sales, and educational programs throughout the growing season.
The facility successfully bred 27 hybrid varieties of pines, spruces, poplars, and willows that demonstrate exceptional resistance to pests, diseases, and frost, with these cultivars now officially registered and widely used in Russian forestry practices.
