Таналыкское водохранилище, водохранилище в Башкортостане
Tainalyk Reservoir is a large water body located in the Khaibuullinsky District of Bashkortostan, Russia, along the Tainalyk River. The reservoir extends for over six kilometers in length with depths averaging around seven meters, featuring an irregular shoreline with numerous bays, inlets, and marshy areas, particularly in its southern sections.
The reservoir was constructed to regulate water levels, generate electricity, and supply water to surrounding settlements. A significant turning point came in 1996 with the discovery of a major copper ore deposit nearby, which fundamentally changed the economic character of the region and led to ongoing mineral extraction operations.
The reservoir serves as a place where local communities gather for fishing and leisure activities, forming part of everyday life in nearby villages. Residents rely on this water body as a natural meeting point and use it for practical needs and relaxation.
The reservoir is accessible by personal vehicle or local bus service, located near Khvorostinskoe village in the Khaibuullinsky District. The region experiences extreme seasonal conditions, with summer temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius (104 Fahrenheit) and winter temperatures dropping to minus 40 degrees Celsius (minus 40 Fahrenheit), causing the water to freeze with thick ice coverage.
The reservoir is known among fishing enthusiasts for its abundant fish populations, including pike, perch, zander, and bream that can reach impressive sizes. The shallow southern sections and numerous bays create ideal spawning grounds that make fishing here particularly rewarding for anglers.
