Nya Sällskapet

Nya Sällskapet is a private members club located in central Stockholm with multiple floors containing dining areas, lounges, game rooms, and an extensive library. The spaces are thoughtfully arranged to accommodate different activities, from meals to intellectual pursuits and social interaction.

Architect Johan Fredrik Åbom designed this building in 1870, blending architectural elements typical of 19th-century Swedish style. It became a gathering place for Stockholm's social circles and has maintained this function throughout the generations.

The building houses one of Sweden's largest private libraries with over 15,000 books and maintains spaces for intellectual discussions and social gatherings.

The club is open daily and members can access all areas during operating hours. Visitors should arrange access through a member, and it is helpful to plan which areas interest you most before your visit.

The building contains a faithful recreation of the Hotel Rydberg banquet hall, the original setting where the classic Swedish dish Biff Rydberg was first created. This reconstructed space captures both the architectural charm and the culinary heritage of this historic location.
